Virtual Therapy for Women Across Delaware
Like you, I call Delaware home. But I didn’t always.
After graduating from The University of Delaware, I ventured to Tennessee for graduate school. There, I earned my M.Ed. in Counseling and completed my licensure training. But after nine years away, it was time to come back to where it all began. Back to my family, back to the First State, and back to the Delaware beaches that have grounded me my entire life.
It’s from this place I built Aligned Counseling, offering virtual therapy and online counseling to women across the state, from Wilmington to Rehoboth and everywhere in between. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, stress and dysregulation, or chronic illness, I am here to help.
Is Therapy Right for You?
Most women who find their way to therapy aren't in crisis. They're just tired: tired of carrying it quietly and needing to be the steady one. Many of the women I’ve worked with experience anxiety that has never fully gone away and are trying to balance work, a family, and life while their own needs go unmet.
If any of that sounds familiar, teletherapy and online counseling might be exactly what you've been looking for without knowing it had a name.
Therapy through Aligned Counseling is:
Completely private
Available from anywhere in Delaware
Flexible enough to fit into a real life with real responsibilities
Just as effective as in-person therapy (and for many women, more accessible)
You don't have to be falling apart to deserve support. Wanting to feel better is reason enough.
Who I'm Here For
I work exclusively with women, and I have built my practice around a few communities that I understand from the inside:
Women navigating anxiety, stress, and the weight of everyday life.
Those battling anxiety and panic attacks.
Women living with chronic illness and ongoing pain.
People touched by cancer: patients, caregivers, and survivors alike.
Healthcare providers and fellow mental health professionals.
Those experiencing grief and major life transitions.
It’s ok if you don’t see your exact struggle on this list. I have experience working with diverse clients, each with different needs.
How We Work Together
Online Therapy at Aligned Counseling is collaborative, unhurried, and built around you:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices
A client-centered, strengths-based approach
Tools for managing anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
Self-compassion frameworks
Practical resources to support you between sessions
A pace and process built entirely around you
With my support and these tools, you’ll come to realize what I already know: you’re not broken. Together, you’ll learn to honor yourself and your needs more clearly.
My Commitment to You
Aligned Counseling is committed to serving and supporting all women, regardless of their race, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Not only are all women welcome here, all women are safe here.
Insurance, Rates, and Scheduling FAQs
I am an in-network PPO provider with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware. If you have a different insurance plan or no insurance at all, self-pay and sliding-rate is available.
-
If you carry Highmark BCBS coverage, your therapy sessions may be covered at your in-network rate which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Before we begin working together, I will help you understand exactly what your plan covers so there are no surprises.
-
If you carry insurance other than Highmark BCBS, I am considered an out-of-network provider for your plan. Self-pay and sliding-rates apply, and I am happy to discuss your options.
-
I believe that many of the symptoms we all experience are very normal reactions to the world we live in. Modern medicine has pathologized many of these feelings and reactions and turned them into diagnosis for treatment.
Because of that, in order for insurance to cover a therapy session, providers are required to submit a diagnosis code with each claim. I want you to know that I will never submit a diagnosis without discussing it with you first. You deserve to understand what is being shared with your insurance company and why.
-
Intake Session: $225 (60–75 minutes)
Individual Session: $165 (50–55 minutes)
-
Financial barriers should never stand between you and the support you need. I offer a sliding scale fee structure for clients who qualify, and I am a member of Open Path Collective, a nonprofit network that connects people with licensed therapists at significantly reduced rates.
If cost is a concern, please bring it up. We will find a way to make it work if we can.
The First Steps to Starting Online Therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big decision. At Aligned Counseling, the process is designed to feel as straightforward and low-pressure as possible.
01
Start with a Free 30 min Consultation
I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation. This is a genuine conversation and a chance for you to ask questions and to ensure we are the right fit for one another.
02
Your Intake Session
If we decide to move forward together, your first official appointment is a 60-75 minute session that gives me the space to understand your history, struggles, and goals.
03
Ongoing Individual Therapy
After your intake, we will establish a rhythm that works for your life. Most clients book weekly or every other week, in 50 to 55-minute sessions.
FAQ about Online Therapy and Aligned Counseling
-
Absolutely. The truth is, burnout isn’t simply “going too hard for too long,” it is actually a sign that the tasks on your to-do list are out of alignment with your values, abilities, skills, or needs. Working with an online therapist or counselor can help you better identify your actual needs and how they may differ from the world around you, then offer you support, guidance, and direction on how to make meaningful changes.
-
First, I want you to know that it takes a lot to even admit that feeling aloud. I know it may feel that way, but even without knowing you, I know that you’re not failing at everything. It sounds like maybe that perfectionist bug is creeping in, so before I continue, check out my blog about How to Manage Perfectionism.
Look… not meeting the demands of our modern times isn’t failure, it is expected. No, we were not meant to navigate this world alone, working 8+ hours a day, without support, all for minimum wage and no universal healthcare. You know the phrase “it takes a village?” It really does, and we used to live that way. And while we have lost those roots, many Americans are waking up each day realizing we need to go back to community, back to nature, and back to a slower pace of being. That is not failure, that is actually alignment.
Together, we can navigate those feelings and find simple daily solutions to bringing you more peace as the world changes rapidly around us.

The idea of a diagnosis can definitely feel scary. You might be thinking, “What does it mean? Will it stop me from getting jobs or traveling? What will others think? Will I ever feel better?”
As a licensed therapist, I view a diagnosis as only necessary for insurance coverage purposes. Beyond that, they are simply labels given to a series of symptoms that are likely completely normal reactions to complex human experiences. We are not meant to be emotionless robots. Feelings are not bad, they are messages. And as your therapist, we will help decode those messages together, with or without a formal “diagnosis.”

What a great question! In general, if you’ve been thinking about pursuing therapy, I think that is a great indicator that therapy is ‘right for you.’ Even if you’re not someone who generally likes to open up about their feelings, building a connection with a trusted counselor can create sensations of safety, comfort, and ease.
Once you decide to pursue therapy, finding the ‘right’ therapist comes down to a few things:
They feel like someone you can eventually develop trust and connection with.
They listen and adapt to what you’ve shared about your preferences.
They meet you where you’re at and work at your pace and comfort levels.
Their boundaries align with yours.
They balance compassion and validation with necessary reframing.
Choose a therapist that offers a free consultation before you get started.
Remember, it may take a few sessions to truly let your guard down and make a genuine connection. Don’t quit before the work can really be done, and be sure to share any feelings of insecurity or doubt with your therapist. They may be able to help dissect the feeling or point you to a colleague that is better suited to your style and emotional needs.

After your free consultation, if it feels like I’m a good fit for you, you can schedule your first session. This will actually be what I call an “intake session.” Instead of a typical 50-55 minute session, we will chat for 60-75 minutes. This relaxed pace ensures I am able to not only gather all relevant information, such as your history, current coping strategies, and goals, but it also gives us both time to find our pace and flow as a working relationship.
From there, you can book individual 50 minute sessions. These sessions will be more focused on judgement-free sharing, CBT strategies, mindfulness, and helpful resources for improving your life.
Delaware has always had a way of feeling like exactly enough to me. That’s why I’m proud to be here, helping you feel exactly the same way: not too big, not too small. Just deeply, perfectly you.
If you are ready to stop carrying it alone, I am ready to listen.
